Transfer Update: Thomas Partey will not force a move away from Atlético Madrid

Welcome to today’s Transfer Update…

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Thomas Partey will not force a move away from Atletico Madrid this transfer window.

The Ghanaian international has been linked with a move to the Emirates all summer but reportedly has no intention of forcing a move if Arsenal refuse to meet his release clause.

Partey has supposedly rejected a contract renewal from Atlético Madrid in an attempt to increase his wages but is likely to stay in Madrid if they come back with an improved deal and Arsenal refuse to budge.

A report from Sky Sports has claimed that Arsenal have had second thoughts over Rob Holding’s potential loan move.

As Arsenal will have Gabriel and William Saliba available for the 20/21 season, Rob Holding appeared to be on the verge of completing a loan move to Newcastle but now it seems that Arsenal have had a change of heart over the future of the English defender.
