Welcome to today’s Transfer Update…

According to a report from The Athletic, Arsenal’s interest in securing Atlético Madrid’s Thomas Partey has ‘intensified’ in the last few days. Arsenal are looking to bring in the defensive midfielder by the end of this transfer window as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his squad for the 20/21 season.

Football.london has reported that Arsenal are close to securing a deal with Real Madrid that would see Dani Ceballos spend another season on loan at the Emirates. Ceballos impressed towards the latter stages of last season and was a crucial part of Mikel Arteta’s FA Cup winning side before returning to Real Madrid at the end of last season.

If Arsenal can get the deal done to bring the 24-year-old back for a consecutive season, it could go a long way in bringing Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League qualification hopes to life.

A report from The Telegraph has suggested that Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira could leave Arsenal in the next few days. The 24-year-old has not received much playing time since Arteta’s arrival and it is understood that he wants to return to Italy.

It is understood that Fiorentina and Napoli currently lead the way to sign Torreira as Arsenal are hoping the funds from this deal could help them to secure some of their other transfer targets.
