Transfer Update: Arsenal in for Brentford’s Saïd Benrahma

Welcome to today’s Transfer Update…

According to a report from 90Min, Arsenal are interested in signing Brentford duo Said Benrahma and David Raya. The two both missed Brentford’s friendly against Oxford United yesterday and with Brentford failing to attain promotion last season it looks as though the two could well be on their way providing the club’s asking price is met.

It has been reported that former Brentford coach Andreas Georgson, who recently joined the staff at Arsenal, is keen to bring them both to the Emirates.

Football correspondent David Ornstein reported yesterday that Arsenal and Paris-Saint-Germain have opened a ‘dialogue’ over the potential transfer of defender Hector Bellerin.

PSG are in the market for a right-back after Thomas Meunier’s departure and it is reported that Hector Bellerin is open to a move providing the clubs can reach an agreement on the transfer fee.

A report from HITC has suggested that Arsenal may only receive £3.5m for Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos with a potential move to Napoli on the cards.

The Greek defender is currently 32 years of age and has less than a year remaining on his contract with Arsenal, but with the Gunners brining in Gabriel Magalhaes it is likely that Sokratis could be on his way out.
