In the last few seasons the club’s transfer policy has been poor and the fanbase has not been shy in voicing their concerns to the board. We consistently sold or loaned players out when we had injuries and left ourselves short, we failed to hold onto our best players and sold them to the teams that we were in direct competition with. However, with regard to our transfer policy it seems as though the club has now turned a corner.
Since the arrival of Mikel Arteta and Edu, we seem to prioritize ourselves in the transfer market, which is something we should have been doing all along. We successfully negotiated a contract with our star man and changed our minds on the Rob Holding deal as it would have left us short of centre-backs.
Though the club still takes a while to announce the deals it makes, the standard of the business this summer has been refreshing for Arsenal fans to see and has left us optimistic for the season. With a few weeks to go until the transfer deadline, we could well be seeing another quality signing in Aouar or Partey which would leave us in a really good position to get back in the UEFA Champions League spaces and or win the Europa League.
The squad looks the strongest it’s been for a few seasons and with the FA Cup success and Aubameyang signing a new deal, things seem to be looking up for Arsenal.
