Matt Smith (Swindon Town)

After assisting a last-minute winner in the Papa John’s Trophy last week, Smith got himself on the scoresheet as he rescued a point at the death for the Robins over the weekend.

With Swindon facing a 3-2 loss at Shrewsbury Town, who had Dejan Iliev on the bench, Smith rifled in a shot from the edge of the box to continue his fine form in League One this season.

The midfielder was in action again last night but couldn’t prevent a 3-0 defeat to Accrington Stanley.

Zech Medley & Trae Coyle (Gillingham)

It was an interesting fixture for both Medley and Coyle as both started against their parent club’s U23 side in the Papa John’s Trophy.

Coyle made headlines as his half volley forced the game into a penalty shoot-out where he found the net but Gillingham eventually lost 4-2.

James Olayinka (Southend United)

The midfielder kept his place in the Southend attack as the Shrimpers left it late to snatch a 1-0 victory over Walsall.

With injury preventing him from marking his mark at Northampton Town last season, the midfielder is really showing what he is capable of at Roots Hall.

Harry Clarke (Oldham Athletic)

It’s been a good period for Clarke who has kept his place at the heart of the Latics defence since breaking into the team.

The youngster has made an impact in both boxes and almost grabbed his second of the season but headed wide in a 2-0 loss to Scunthorpe United.
